Irrespective of the sport you play achieving a sustainable level of energy from start to finish is crucial to your success. While your innate talent and level of motivation to succeed is important, what you eat and when is essential to the final outcome of all your training.
Aside from the obvious factors of weight loss or gain athletes also need to learn about their nutritional needs at baseline (i.e. when they are having a day off) and how these needs change during training and competition along with considerations for the age of the athlete. In addition to this each sporting category carries it’s own nutritional concerns and understanding these factors can help to reduce stress, fatigue and injury thereby increasing enjoyment of the sport.
