How to make weight for competition the right way

Many sports require athletes to compete in weight categories and to be at a certain weight (or below) before competition.

This is called ‘making weight’ and applies to sports such as light weight rowing, boxing, equestrian, taekwondo etc.

Although athletes have time to achieve their desired weight during the latter part of their ‘off season’ some fine tuning is usually required as they near competition.
