How to boost your post-ride recovery in the cafe

Many athletes these days include a café stop at the end of their ride.

They tend to pick a spot with good coffee, mostly healthy-ish looking food and space to park their bikes while they chat.

But what food should they choose in order to not undo all the good done by that blast of exercise?

  • How much protein is enough to help rebuild their muscles?
  • How much and what type of carbohydrate should they choose in order to replace glycogen stores?
  • What about portion size?
  • Wouldn’t bacon be a good choice if they’ve done all that exercise?
